amem_hummingbird.jpgPeggy Phillips Kelly, 77. of Knoxville, Tenn, formerly of Radford, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Monday, September 29, 2014 after a courageous 20 month battle with cancer. Peggy was born in Clintwood, Va. on June 22, 1937 to the late George R. and Hattie May Phillips.

Peggy is survived by her daughter, Kandace Kelly of Cumming Ga.; her brother, Mac Phillips of Knoxville Tenn; and her sister, Scarlett Faulk of Belleair, Fla.

Peggy’s career ranged from an X-Ray technician to a medical secretary before becoming a staff model for Rich’s department store in Atlanta; she eventually became the fashion coordinator for the Sears department stores in the Tri-Cities area as well as taught at Patricia Stevens Modeling and Finishing School. Later in her career she became a mall manager and eventually a companion to the elderly before enjoying her retirement.

Funeral Services and interment will be held at 11 a.m.on Saturday October 4, 2014 at Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin, Va. within the Chapel Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made in Peggy’s honor to the American Cancer Association (American Cancer Fund, PO Box 7262 Hillsborough, NJ 08844).
