Kelley, Jr., Garland Rickie
Garland Rickie Kelley Jr., 38 of Narrows, Va., and Montgomery, Texas, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2011, as the result of an industrial accident. Rickie was born on February 8, 1973, to the late Garland Rickie and Barbara Blevins Kelley. Rickie is survived by his wife of 15 years, Tonya; and children, Matthew Kelley and Diana Janica, of San Antonio, Texas, and Karsyn and Jackson Kelley; sister, Holly Kelley Guillot and husband, David, of Montgomery, Texas, and their children, Zoe and Ross; grandparents, Garland and Colleen Kelley, of Narrows, Va.; aunt, Angela Kelley Walker, of Gray, Tenn., and her daughter, Emma; and uncle, Rusty Kelley, and his wife, Jan, of Charlotte, N.C., and their children, Daniel, Lauren and Brenden. Rick also had very dear family in North Carolina, Alex and Debbie Myers, Kevin and Sherry Brinegar, Jamie and Jennifer Thorne; and nieces and nephews, Justin, Emily, Ally, Montana and Noah. Rickie attended Narrows High School where he graduated in 1991. While at NHS Rickie was an avid athlete where he enjoyed great success at football, wrestling, and track and field. After leaving high school Rickie attended plumbing school where he earned a master’s license. He worked with various plumbing companies in North Carolina until his relocation to Texas. His latest residence was in Montgomery, Texas, where he has lived for the past four years. He began working in the oil industry shortly after relocating to Texas. His latest position was with Professional Directional Services in Conroe, Texas, where he met with great success and was the United States Operations Manager for the MWD division of Professional Directional Services. The family will receive friends at Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows on Friday, August 5, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. A service to honor and celebrate Rick’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2011, at Cornerstone Pentecostal Holiness Church in Narrows with burial immediately following the service at Fairview Cemetery in Narrows. In lieu of flowers, a trust fund for the family is being established. A temporary account has been set up with Bank of America until the trust can be completed.
