Beatrice Rose Kawders Keleher, 98, died peacefully on October 18, 2019. Born on May 5, 1921 in Hartford, CT. After being raised in Hartford she married her first husband, Alfred Canevari, moved with him to Washington, D.C. and gave birth to her three children, Thomas Edward Canevari (Kathie) of Newport News, VA; Pamela Anne Canevari Davis (Paul) of Dublin, VA and Robert John Canevari (Jennifer) of Riner,VA.

Bea was preceded in death by her parents, Edward H. Kawders and Elvira Neri Kawders, her brother and sister-in-law, Edward V. Kawders and Gladys Almedia Kawders, her sister and brother-in-law, Rita Kawders Umile and Joseph Umile and nephew Joseph Edward Umile.

In addition to her three children Bea is also survived by four grandchildren, Heather Canevari Bruss (Peter) of Temecula, CA; April Canevari Chatmon (Louis) of Newport News, VA; Gregory Stanton Canevari (Andrea) of Stafford, VA and Melina Rose Canevari Hagan (Toby) of Christiansburg, VA. “Fancy Bea” also leaves behind seven great-grandchildren, Donald “D.J.” and Julian Chatman of Temecula, CA; Micah and Autumn Chatmon of Newport News, VA and Abigail, Isabella, Rosalia Canevari of Stafford, VA. Special Mention to Jasmyn Charlton who Bea considered to be one of her own great-grandchildren. Bea dearly loved all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and was so very proud of each one of them. She reveled in each of them many accomplishments.

Beatrice was loved by many, had numerous close friends and a host of loved one who considered her their “adopted” mother or grandmother.

The family was accept visitors at Horne Funeral Home in Christiansburg, VA from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday, October 26th. This will immediately be followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m.

Thank you for special care that Bea received at Heritage House and Forever Young House. The family is also grateful for all of the Hospice nurses, therapists, chaplain, and other workers who were so diligent and caring.
