Keith Phyllis A. Light,

Phyllis A. Keith (Light), 77 of Shawsville, went home to be with the Lord after a battle with cancer on Thursday, October 17, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Keith and Lula Keith Atkinson; and brother, Kenneth Keith. She is survived by her son, Michael Light and wife Lisa; their two children, Morgan and Ethan; brother, Wesley Atkinson and his wife Barbara; as well as five nieces and 1 nephew. For many years, Phyllis worked in the insurance business, the FBI in Washington, DC, and finally retired from the Department of Education at Virginia Tech. She loved her flowers and quilting, but her family most of all. Special thanks to our friends and family that cared for my mother in her time of need. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 20, 2013, from 3-5 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 21, 2013, at 11 a.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Lenny Belcher officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Cemetery, Shawsville.
