Keith, Lorraine Compton

Lorraine Compton Keith, 92 of Floyd, went to be with the Lord on December 9, 2018. She passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Larkin and Hattie Compton; husband, George Keith; sisters, Freeda Anglin and Iva Ruth Brammer; brother, Melvin Compton.

She is survived by her daughter, Shelby Jean Keith Mitchem; sons, George Douglas Keith “G.D.”, Randall Ray Keith and Larry Dean Keith; sister, Lois Thompson; brother, Cecil Compton (Marlene), sister-in-law Nelcie Compton all of Floyd; numerous nieces and nephews.

Our Mother was an amazing woman. She loved her children so much that she sacrificed her own needs to provide for her children. Mother worked hard on the farm feeding the animals and canning vegetables from the garden to get the family through the winter. She loved flowers and each year, with her green thumb, grew the most beautiful flowers in the world.

A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 13, 2018 at the Lee Cemetery with Pastor Dale Belcher officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Maberry Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers please make donations to ST. JUDE CHILDREN’S RESEARCH HOSPITAL, 501 ST.
