James Randolph (Jimmy) Keister, 79, of Radford, Va., passed away on Monday, April 12, 2010. Jimmy was born on July 6, 1930, to the late Joe and Daisy Smart Keister. He was also predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Lawson Keister; and sister, Jean Thornsbury. Jimmy was a Korean War Veteran that was awarded the Bronze Star. He was also a retired life-long farmer. He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and Bobby Alls, of Riner, and Gail and Danny Quesenberry, of Shiloh; son, Rodney Keister, of Radford; cousin, Silas Cox, of Christiansburg; grandchildren, Keith and Kelly Ferrell, Paige Keister, and Ethan Alls; and stepgrandchildren, Lea Ann Knick, Sharon Quesenberry, and Amy Quesenberry. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 15, 2010, from the Rockford Cemetery in Fairlawn, Va., with the Reverend Ernest Depew officiating. Radford VFW Post #776 will conduct Military Graveside Rites. Arrangements by DeVilbiss Funeral Home, Radford, Va.
