Kegley, Gene Edward

Gene Edward Kegley, age 78, of Blacksburg died, Sunday, March 22, 2015, at Lewis Gale Hospital- Montgomery. He was born in Piedmont, WV. on May 20, 1936 to the late Floyd and Clara Etter Kegley. He was preceded in death by his brothers, John and Randy Kegley, sons-in-law, Steve Akers and Alan Wilson, as well as four sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law, and two grandchildren.

He was a member of Cambria Pentecostal Holiness Church, and was a mechanic for 50 years.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Akers Kegley, three sons and daughters-in-law, Gene Allen Kegley and wife, Rose, of Draper, Carless Kegley, of WV., Mike Akers and wife, Dawn, Palatka, FL., four daughters and sons-in-law, Charlotte Call and husband, David, Taylorsville, NC., Starleen Proffitt, Taylorsville, NC., Ann Mann and husband, Charlie, of Blacksburg, Carol Wilson, of Blacksburg, brothers and sister-in-law, Pete Kegley, of Narrows, Ralph Kegley and wife Ellen, of Peterstown, WV., sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy Kegley, of Mooresville, NC., Juanita Walker and husband, Ralph, Detroit, MI., Sheila Schmitt, Appleton, WI., Mary Patrick and husband, Joe, Roanoke, Barbara Justice, Green Bay, WI., twenty one grandchildren, twenty four great-grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Cambria Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Jerry Shepherd and Rev. Jube Burk officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.

Flowers will be appreciated or donations may be made to the Cambria Pentecostal Holiness Church 915 Montgomery St., Christiansburg, Va. 24073. Friends may call anytime after 4:00 pm Tuesday, and the family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm Tuesday evening at the Cambria Pentecostal Holiness Church, Christiansburg.
