Keffer, Alton

Alton Keffer, 86, of Christiansburg, died on Monday, January 21, 2013. He was born on December 26, 1926, to the late Rex and Ethel Keffer of Craig County. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Roy and Bill; and sister, Bertie Ratliff.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Janie Sue; his sister, Eileen Averhart; children, Gail Holzer and husband, Siegfried, and Hope Keffer; grandchildren, Lance Shepard, Michael and Matthew Holzer; numerous nieces and nephews; and close friends in the Level Green Community.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2013, in the Level Green Christian Church, Newport with Minister Harold Morris officiating. Interment will follow in the Level Green Christian Church Cemetery.
