Kanode, Betty Lee Dobbins

Betty Lee Dobbins Kanode, 76, of Christiansburg, Va., died on Monday, November 26, 2007 at Montgomery Regional Hospital.

She was born in Radford, Va. on January 28, 1931 to the late Grover and Lena Horton Dobbins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis S. Kanode, Jr.; two grandsons, Andrew Kanode and Michael Stone; brothers, Howard and Roger Dobbins; and sister, Eloise Dobbins.

She, alongside her husband, Lewis, owned and operated Kanode Trading Place and Mini Storage. Mrs. Kanode was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and David Stone of Christiansburg; son and daughter-in-law, Kermit and Betty Kanode of Christiansburg; grandchildren, Clara Stone-Henry and husband, David, Abbey Stone, Rebecca Stone and Courtney Kanode; sister and brother-in-law, Irene and Herbert Wilson of Baltimore, Md.; brothers and sister-in-law, Mavis Dobbins and Bob and Gael Dobbins, all of Snowville; sisters-in-law, Hazel Hodge, Virginia Smith and Nancy Ayers; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at 3 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rador Vaden and the Rev. Richard Gilbert officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg.

Friends may call anytime after 12 noon on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr., Blacksburg, Va.
