Kahl, Anita Emma Hass
Anita Emma Hass Kahl was born June 22, 1910 in Oconto, Wisconsin and departed this life in Blacksburg, Virginia on December 30, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Kahl, parents, Margareta Buck (WI), and Reinhold Hass (IL/WI), sisters, Esther Karolus (IL), and Inez Hass (WI), and brothers, Norman, Martin and Orval Hass (all CA). Surviving are a daughter, Marcia Aguilar and her husband, Eduardo Aguilar, who live in Brownsville, Texas, a daughter, Gail Langley and her husband, Lawrence Langley, who live in McCoy, Virginia. Other survivors are grandchildren, Steven Aguilar, Brownsville, Texas, Daniel Yocum and his wife, Ugela Cicholmska, and their children, Sophie and Claire, St. Charles, Illinois; and four stepgrandchildren, William Langley, Gum Spring, Virginia, Michelle and Steven Langley and their children, Taylor and Madison, Clayton, North Carolina, Melissa and Jefferson Langley and their son, Kevin, Pearisburg, Virginia and Suzanne and Roger Claxton, and their daughters, Molly and Rachael, Floyd, Virginia. Also surviving is former son-in-law, Rolland Yocum, Crandon, Wisconsin. Anita resided in Warm Hearth Village for the past ten years. She was a very active member of First American Lutheran Church, Oconto, Wisconsin, playing the pump organ as a young woman, leading the Sunday School Opening Program, singing in the choir and as a member of the Woman’s Missionary Society and Bible Study Group. She made many hundreds of quilts for foreign missions “each one nice enough” to put on her own bed. She had a long career as a beloved and sought-after kindergarten teacher in Oconto,Wisconsin.
