Jones, Mary Lou

Mary Lou Jones, 79, of Pearisburg, Va., passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at Highland Ridge Nursing Home and Rehab in Dublin, Va. Mrs. Jones was born on July 13, 1935, in Honaker, Va., and was a daughter of the late Everett and Rose Stinson.

She was the former wife of the late Guy P. Miller of Newport. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Ralph Jones; and two brothers, Ronnie Stinson and Lawrence Stinson. Mrs. Jones retired from Poly-Scientific after 37 years of service and was a member of Wesley’s Chapel United Methodist Church of Eggleston. She is survived by one son, Butch Miller and his wife, Sandy, of Pulaski; one daughter, Rhonda Brumfield and husband, Josh, of Nashville, Tenn.; one stepson, Tommy Jones and wife, Barbara, of New Jersey; one stepdaughter, Sally J. Shrader and her husband, Kevin, of Newport; five grandchildren, Ronnie Miller, Crystal Reed, Leslie Miller, Zachary Vaught, and Amari Vaught; one stepgrandchild, Kelsey Jones; two brothers, Henry Stinson, and Bill Stinson and sister-in-law, Wanda; one sister, Jackie Childress and brother-in-law, Jim; and two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Stinson and Janet Stinson. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2014, at Birchlawn Abbey in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at Birchlawn Abbey one hour before the service from 1 to 2 p.m. The family wishes to thank the staff of Highland Ridge Health and Rehab for the caring services.
