Jones, L. F. Casey

Casey JonesL. F. Casey Jones, 50, of Blacksburg, died Monday, March 19, 2012, at Lewis Gale Hospital-Montgomery. He was born in Bristol on October 8, 1961. He was a physical education teacher at Kipps Elementary and taught in Montgomery County Public Schools for over 25 years. He was an avid fisherman, football and basketball referee, and umpire for baseball and softball, as well as a wonderful daddy.

He is survived by his wife, Pat Jones; daughter, Keely Jones, of Blacksburg; parents, Ann and Frank Jones, Bristol, Va.; maternal grandmother, Pearl Noonkester, Bristol, Tenn.; uncles, Ernest and Bobby Noonkester, Bristol, Tenn.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dr. Felix and Sally Pierce, Blacksburg; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jenna and Bob Hody, Bel Aire, Md.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dr. Chris and Kathy Pierce, Roanoke; nieces and nephews, Andrew and wife, Joanna, Caitlin and husband, Chris, James, Stephen, Courtney, Ian, Corabeth; cousins, Max and Amy; and all of his fishing, refereeing, teaching, and Pine Mountain buddies.

Memorial services will be conducted 5:30 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2012, in the Prices Fork Elementary School, with Pastor John Wertz, Pastor Tommy McDearis, and Father Jim Arsenault officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Casey Jones Memorial Scholarship Fund at any StellarOne location.
