I’m sorry for the families loss. James (Scubby) was a good friend of mine. I used to walk down to his house and we’d walk to school. He was one of the most fantastic artists that I’ve ever seen. We used to walk to Blue Ridge Market to get comics. He had a big DC Comic collection.

I met James one day when I walked by his house, realized that the big tree by the sidewalk is a black tupelo and I wanted to try getting a “start” from it. I asked him for permission. After that we talked often because we agreed so much on political concerns. I knocked on his door on February 27 thinking he might not know about the “economic blackout” on the next day. The story started with the tree and ends with it: people were concerned that his tree damage hadn’t been cleaned up and that’s how we found out that he has passed. Another good man gone!!
