Jones, James (Jim) William

James (Jim) William Jones, age 73, of Blacksburg, died, Wednesday, September 5, 2012. He was born in Goodwill, W.V. on August 12, 1939 to the late Oscar and Mary Wiseman Jones. He was also preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Jim Humphries. He retired from Virginia Tech after 34 years of services. Jim was also a member of the Blacksburg United Methodist Church where he was an usher for 40 years. His favorite things were to travel the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Smokey’s and the Outer Banks. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Elaine M. Jones, daughter, Susan Jones, of Blacksburg, two brothers, Joe and Sheila Jones, of Hagerstown, MD., Charles and Linda Jones, orange, FL., sister-in-law and borhter-in-law, Rita and Fred Ulshafer, Russell, KY., several nieces and nephews, special friends, Kathleen and David Cromer, Floyd Long, Lucas Graham, Nedra Underwood, special child that he loved like a granddaughter, Abby Vaught, feline companions, Hokie and Bailey, special thanks to Carilion New River Valley Hospice for their wonderful care. Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 2:00 pm in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Reggie Tuck officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 pm Friday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Carilion Hospice Service of NRV, 707 Randolph St. Suite 251, Radford, Va.
