Hazel Claudine Thornsberry Jones, 56, of Dublin, Va., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 18, 2008. She was an active member of the Church of the Lord Jesus in Narrows, Va. She was a member of the Holiness Faith for over 36 years, and a Joyful Spirit for many, that will he greatly missed.

She left behind a multitude of family and friends including her husband, Danny, whom she married in 1968 in Pembroke, Va. They had 16 kids of which 12 remain. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother and sister.

She was preceded in death by her father, the late Homer Hibert Thornsberry; daughter, Latisha (Yoke) Harless; and a small infant; and two infant children. She worked as a in-home nurse over 10 years and as a wonderful mother throughout her marriage. She was always there lending a hand to anyone in need.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel Ralph Jones; six sons and daughters-in-law, Lawrence C. and Debbie S. Jones, of Dublin, Daniel A. Jones, of Dublin, Chadwick D. and Shannon H. Jones, of Dublin, John C. Jones, of Blacksburg, Homer E. and Jessie Jones, of Pulaski, and Jamison K. Jones, of the home; six daughters and son-in-law, Demetria P. Jones, of Dublin; Katreeka T. Jones, of Pearisburg, Hazelrosamae C. and Michael S. Thomas, Christiansburg, Vivian A. and Damon Ioerger, of Newbern, Vaundlene A. and Jutai A. Jones, both of the home; five grandsons, Caleab and Timothy Harless, Braiden Thomas, and Daniel Hurst and Austin Byrd; three granddaughters, Sarah Jarrells, Kyliaunna Ioerger, Brittany Byrd, and expecting baby, Thomas; mother, Edna Mae Payne Thornsberry; three brothers and sister-in-law, Clenard C. and Sonja Thornsberry, of Swords Creek, Homer D. Thornsberry, of Dublin, and Sean D. Thornsberry, of Swords Creek; two sisters and brother-in-law, Vivian A. Thornsberry, of Tennessee, and Alisha C. and William D. Taylor, of Pulaski; and many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, September 22, 2008, at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate with the Rev. Huffard Payne and the Rev. Paul Hazelwood officiating. Burial in the Payne Cemetery, Narrows. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2008, at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m.
