Jones, Dorothy Mae

Dorothy Mae Jones, 89, of Christiansburg passed away Sunday, July 21, 2013, at Lewis Gale Hospital-Montgomery. She was born in Astoria, N.Y. on August 22, 1923 and has been a resident of Christiansburg since 1988. She is predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Henry Jones. Also predeceased are a daughter-in-law, Patricia Jones and a granddaughter, Jennifer.

Dorothy was a member of the Christiansburg Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed the fellowship and friendship of so many wonderful folks. She is survived by her son, Robert H. Jones of Bethpage, N.Y., William A. Jones, of Christiansburg, Douglas C. Jones and wife, Dru of Blacksburg, Richard C. Jones and wife, Priscilla, of Montauk, N.Y., granddaughters, Janelle Jones, Janie Jones, Katie Eller and husband, Matt, Heather Jones, grandsons, John Jones and Shaun Jones. Dorothy’s family would like to acknowledge special friends Harold and Joyce Ross of Christiansburg. The family would also like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the loving and caring staff of the Kroontje Health Care Center in Blacksburg. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at 10:30am in McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Donald Makin officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Christiansburg Presbyterian Church 107 W. Main St. Christiansburg, VA. 24073.
