Rev. David R. Jones, pastor of Christiansburg Congregational Holiness Church went to Heaven on Monday, March, 31, 2014. He is now with his Lord and he is with his daddy, Daniel Russell Jones; and his mommy, Lillian Cooper Jones. He was born on March 3, 1947. He just celebrated his 67th birthday. He really loved all his church family.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Nancy Gilmore Jones, who has been lovingly caring for him during his courageous fight with cancer. David is also survived by three borhters, Curtis Jones of Christiansburg, Benny Jones of Radford, and Tom Jones and his wife, Gwen of Riner. He is also survived by one sister, Nancy Smith and her husband, Roger of Elliston; as well as many nieces and nephews.

David will be greatly missed by Billy Woolwine of Christiansburg, a friend who has been like a son and he and his wife, Jo, have been such a great help during David’s illness. The family would like to thank Carilion Hospice for caring for him in such a loving way.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 2, 2014, from 5-8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2014, at 2 p.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor T. Michael Bond and Rev. Gary Shephard officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg.
