Johnston, Ruby Davis

Ruby Virginia Davis Johnston, 84, of Staffordsville, Va., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 17, 2010, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born November 13, 1925, at Norcross, Va., the daughter of the late Van Trigg and Roberta Virginia Albert Davis.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Scott Johnston; a brother, Van T. Davis Jr.

She was a member of Eaton’s Chapel United Methodist Church.

She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Russell and Bonita Johnston, Van Johnston; three daughters and sons-in-law, Genny and Greg Bandy, Nancy and Charlie Edwards, Alice and Mike Bayse; a brother and sistersin-law, Ernest and Ruby Davis, Anna Sue Davis, Lillian J. Pack; 10 grandchildren; 10 greatgrandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Eaton’s Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jack Jenkins and the Rev. Paula Campbell officiating. Burial in the Johnston Family Cemetery. The visitation will be Monday at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate after 1 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the American Heart Association or the Eaton’s Chapel Church in Ruby’s memory.
