Johnston, Daniel Stuart

Our Dad, Daniel “Stuart” Johnston joined his family in heaven on Wednesday, February 15, 2023. He was preceded in death by wife, Nancy Welch Johnston and their son, Jeffery Stuart Johnston. Also, his parents, Lacy Leo Johnston and Lois Gray Johnston, his brothers, Herbert “Muss” Johnston, Leo “Bugg” Johnston and Roger Lee Johnston.

Stuart loved his family unconditionally. He was so proud of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He loved the Lord and read his bible in its entirety many times. He often quoted scripture about God’s love, blessings and family.

Stuart retired from Radford Arsenal after 43 years. He spent part of his retirement working alongside his son and family at Virginia Feed Store. He spent his days outside with his grandchildren teaching them to hunt, fish, raise chickens, pick berries, plant a garden, can food, make jerky and take care of animals.

Stuart is survived by his son, Timmy (Cindy) Johnston and Jennifer (Scott) Ratcliff. Grandchildren, Sara (Rob) Abbott, Carlee (Jared) Ellison, Jack Ratcliff, Shelby (Hunter Taylor) Ratcliff, Levi (Lauren) Johnston, Abigail Johnston, and Jessica Johnston. Great grandchildren, Waylon and Olivia Abbott and Everly Ellison. Many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Funeral Arrangements are with Norris Stevens Funeral Services in Pulaski. Services will be held on Sunday, February 19 at 3:00 with Kelly Howlett officiating. Visitation beginning at 2:00 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Thornspring United Methodist Church Cemetery.
