Johnson, Valencia Vaughan

Valencia Vaughan Johnson, 87, of Pulaski, died Friday November 30, 2007 in Carilion New River Valley Medical Center.

She was born September 16, 1920 in Pulaski, and was the daughter of the late Nina McCroskey Vaughan and Oscar Gleason “O.G.” Vaughan. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Pulaski, a graduate of Pulaski High School class of 1937, and a retired computer supervisor at Hercules Inc., at Radford Army Ammunition Plant.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Owen Johnson. She is survived by one brother, Ronald G. Vaughan and his wife, Louise, of Pulaski; two nephews, Dr. Ronald O. Vaughan and his wife, Susan, of Pulaski, and Dr. Dennis L. Vaughan of Radford; four great-nephews, two great-nieces; two great-great-nephews, and one great-great-niece.

Funeral services will be held Monday December 3, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Thomas M. Seagle & Sons with the Rev. Hugh Kilgore officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the First United Methodist Church 135 Third Street, N.W. Pulaski, VA 24301 or to the charity of your choice.
