Johnson Jr., Charles Bill

Charles Bill Johnson Jr., 58, of Pembroke, departed this life on Saturday evening, November 24, 2012, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C. Born in Pearisburg on April 5, 1954, he was a son of the late Charles Bill Johnson Sr. and Shirley Ellen Martin Johnson. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Lynn Price Johnson.

Bill retired from Norfolk and Southern Railroad after 35 years of service. He enjoyed spending time on the family river property at Pembroke with his loved ones.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters Kimberly Lynn Albert and Marlena Jo Clark; son-in-law Eric Jason Clark; his grandsons that he considered his reward for raising his two daughters, Derek Duane Cox and Eric Shane Clark, and stepgranddaughter, Amanda Cox Singer; his brothers Steven Johnson and wife Diane, Dale Johnson; his sister Connie Shuff; his best friend Bucky Blankenship; and many other close friends and family members.

Memorial services will be conducted 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2012, in Riverview Baptist Church in Ripplemead with Pastor Shahn Wilburn and Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 5 until 7 p.m. before the services. The Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke is handling the arrangements.
