Although Hildegard loved the Northern Virginia area and it”s proximity to the Washington DC museums and National Mall she moved to Pulaski, Virginia in 2008 to enjoy the climate and natural beauty of the area. She often remarked on how happy she was being able to see Peak”s Knob from her living room window.

Always thinking of animals and their needs she made arrangements for her devoted companion dog, Wendy, to stay with family.

She will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery with her beloved husband Major Ralph E. Johnson (Ret). Mrs. Johnson will be cremated.
