Johnson, Harold

Harold Johnson, 70, of Pearisburg, Va., went to be with the Lord on Monday evening, January 5, 2009, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Harold was born on January 27, 1938, in Ballard, W.Va., and was a son of the late Theodore Roosevelt Johnson and Elva Mae Gore Johnson.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Dickerson Johnson, of Pearisburg; his mother-in-law, Glenna C. Dickerson, of Pearisburg; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Allan L. and Leslie, of High Point, N.C., and Jason E. (J.J.) Johnson, of Pearisburg; three grandchildren, Dimitri A. Johnson, Whitney S. Johnson, and Jasmyne K. Johnson; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Billie and Jung Johnson, of Burlington, N.J., and Theodore R. and Minnie Johnson. of Ballard, W.Va.; three sisters, Alice and Jacob Simms, of Notasulga, Ala., Mabel Johnson, of Hempstead, N.Y., and Dreama and Ralph Beauford, of Roanoke; sister-in-law, Barbara A. Johnson, of Pearisburg; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2009, at the First Baptist Church in Pearisburg with the Rev. Michael Bratton officiating. Burial will follow in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church on Friday, January 9, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m.
