Robert Job III, (82) of Christiansburg VA passed away from this earth on December 29, 2018 joining the Lord and all of his loved ones that have passed before him.

Bob was born April 22, 1936, in Charleston, WV to his late parents Robert Job Jr., and Blanche Irma Miner Job. He was preceded by his daughter Katherine Elizabeth Job, and brother Richard Job.

Bob was a graduate of West Mount High School in Montreal, Canada, and received a BA from Hamilton College in Clinton, NY. He married his beloved wife Judith Elizabeth Chrisman in 1959 and lived in numerous locations before retiring to Christiansburg, VA in 2000.

Bob served in the Marine Corp in the late 1950’s, followed by a professional career of 38 years with IBM in a variety of management and leadership positions.

Bob was active as a volunteer in the NRV, serving on the Board of Directors of “NRV Leading Lights”, and was an active member of the Montgomery Christmas Store, the Christiansburg Lion Club, Blacksburg Sports Club, Christiansburg American Legion, the Order of Saint Luke and the Giving Tree Food Pantry at Fieldstone.

He was an active lay member of the Fieldstone United Methodist Church.

Bob is survived by his wife Judy of Christiansburg, a son Robert & his wife Amy, and his cherished granddaughter Isabelle. He is also survived by numerous cousins including Liane Connolly, Sydenham, Ontario, and Dick Arnold, Blacksburg, VA who he was blessed to reconnect with upon retiring.

A viewing will be held at Horne Funeral Home, Christiansburg, VA on Friday January 4th from 5-7 pm followed by a “Celebration of Life” memorial at 10 am on Saturday January 5th at St. Paul United Methodist Church, Christiansburg, VA. A reception at St. Paul will follow the service.
