Jewell, Mary Dickerson

Mary Maxie Dickerson Jewell, born May 9, 1923, in Indian Valley, went to be with the Lord peacefully on Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at her home in Christiansburg. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles W. Jewell; her parents, John and Eva Dickerson; her son-in-law, George Stewart; three brothers; and five sisters.

She is survived by her son, Charles W. Jewell, Jr. and wife, Olga, of Woodlawn, Va.; daughters, Peggy Jewell, of Christiansburg, Va., Janet Epperly, of Christiansburg, Va., Mary Stewart, of Fairlawn, Va.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers; and one sister.

Our hearts were broken today but you’re in a beautiful placed with no more pain. We all love you Mom.

The family will receive friends from noon to 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2015, at Horne Funeral Home.
