Kenneth B. Jennings, Sr., long time resident of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, died Saturday, May 2, 2009 at the Kroontje Health Care Center, Warm Hearth Village in Blacksburg, Virginia. He was born on September 29, 1919 in Joilet, Illinois to Carson and Gladys Jennings. Ken received his bachelor’s degree in architecture from Clemson College in 1942 and served in World War II, Navy, as a Lieutenant stationed at Adak, Alaska. He practiced architecture in North Carolina for over forty years. Ken was predeceased by his wife Christine in 2000, after 53 years of marriage. Survivors include son, K. B. Jennings, Jr. and wife, Cynthia, of Winston-Salem, N.C.; daughter Lucinda Jennings and husband, Bob Livingstone, of Blacksburg, Virginia; daughter, Amy Jennings, of Blacksburg, Virginia; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Briggs, Sam Briggs and Emily Briggs; and Callie, his cherished cat companion. The family wishes to express gratitude to all the kind and loving staff who cared for Ken at the Kroontje Center since December 2007.
