Jennings, Hallie Mills

Hallie Virginia Mills Jennings, 83, of 1124 Stewart St., Welch, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008 at her home. Born Sept. 24, 1924 in Pembroke, Va., she was the daughter of the late Luther and Alma Brumfield Mills. She was a resident of Welch the greater part of her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Welch. She was a volunteer at Steven Clinic Hospital and Welch Community Hospital.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother.

Survivors include husband, Billy E. Jennings of Welch; two sons, David Jennings of the home and Lewis and wife Debbie Jennings of Winston-Salem, N.C.; a special son and daughter, Joel and Christie Acain of Greensboro, N.C.; grandchildren, Nathan and Kasey Acain of Greensboro, N.C.; brother, L.J. Mills and wife Mayme of Princeton; two sisters, Dorothy McVey of Braynor, Md., Louise Justice and husband, Kermit of Indian Creek.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008 at 11 a.m. from the Fanning Funeral Home Chapel in Welch with the Rev. Clay Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Thorn Springs Cemetery in Dublin, Va., where graveside rites will be conducted at 2:30 p.m.

Friends may call Monday, Jan. 7, 2008 at Fanning Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Pallbearers will be friends.

Fanning Funeral Home of Welch is in charge of arrangements.
