Jennelle Sr., Leonard Lee

Leonard Lee Jennelle Sr., 69, of Blacksburg, died Sunday, February 10, 2008, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. He was born in Montgomery County, Va., on February 3, 1939, to the late Roy Joseph and Iowa Mabry Jennelle.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl Johns Jennelle; a son, Leonard L. Jennelle Jr.; sisters, Margaret Jennelle and Edith Jennelle; brothers, Moiry Jennelle, Allen Jennelle, Harry Jennelle, Roy Jennelle, Norman L. “Jack” Jennelle, John Jennelle, Dean Jennelle and Cullen Jennelle.

He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Lisa J. and Michael Tilley, of Roanoke, Karen C. Jennelle and David W. Draper Jr., of Ashburn, Va.; grandchildren, Alexa, Amanda and Amelia Tilley, Katelyn, Leah, Colton Dean, Savannah and Phoebe Draper; as well as many nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law, Anne Jennelle and Marie Jennelle.

Leonard will be remembered as a wonderful musician, husband, father, grandfather, and a true gentleman.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2008, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family invites you to join them at Custom Catering following the interment.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Central and Western Va. Chapter-Roanoke Region, 2728 Colonial Ave., Suite 2, Roanoke, Va. 24015, in memory of Leonard’s beloved wife, Cheryl.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening, February 12, 2008, at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr., Blacksburg, Va.
