Jarrett, Bettye Loar

Bettye Loar Jarrett, 77 of Christiansburg, passed away Friday, August 7, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. The daughter to the late Oscar and Minnie Loar, Mrs. Jarrett was preceded in death by a daughter; Donna Sue Jarrett and son; Robert Jarrett, Jr., siblings; Mary Sutphin, Gratton Loar and Joe Loar.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 60 years, Robert Jarrett, Sr., son; Kevin Jarrett, daughters; Karen Jarrett and Kristina Jarrett. She is also survived by her sisters; Diane Smith, Irma Bradley, Polly Lyons and “Adopted” Daughter; Jackie Loar. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

Bettye loved to read and was loved by everyone she met. She was a dedicated wife and wonderful mother. She will be greatly missed by her many friends and extended family.

The family has decided in lieu of a funeral service or flowers, a donation may be made in her memory to the Christiansburg Library, 125 Sheltman Street, Christiansburg, VA 24073 to further her love of reading.
