Jarrell, Lenore Miller Ramsey

Lenore Miller Ramsey Jarrell, 91, of Dublin, Va., died at the home oh her daughter, (Joyce) in Durham, N.C., Wednesday evening, February 8, 2006.

Lenore was a member of the Dublin United Methodist Church and the Seekers Circle. She worked for Celanese Corporation for 33 years, retiring in 1979. She was the last surviving member of her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Harvey and Minnie Catherine Miller; husband Claude Ramsey; brothers, Edgar Stafford, Carl, Earl and Vaden Miller; sisters Stella Pruett and Marie Armstrong; daughter, Carol Manke, and grandsons, Claude Benning and Douglas Vickers.

Lenore is survived by daughters Claudine (Doug) Vickers, Bethel (Bill) Brodie, Peggy Holt and Joyce (Bud) Childress, and one son, Chuck (Jeannie) Jarrell. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 19 greatgrandchildren and 13 greatgreat-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Sunday, February 12, 2006 at 3:30 p.m. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate, Va. with the Rev. Bill Rowland officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 2 to 3:30 p.m. prior to services at 3:30 p.m.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 13, 2006 in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin, Va. Flowers are acceptable or donations can be made to Dublin United Methodist Church, PO Box 577, Dublin, Va. 24084 or to Charles House, 109 Hillcrest Avenue, Carrboro, N.C. 27510.
