James, Mary Caroline

Mary Caroline James “Sissie”, 52, of Goldbond, VA, departed this life Wednesday evening, October 17, 2018, at her home in the care of her family and hospice.

Born in Giles County on June 7, 1966, she was a daughter of Patsy Lucas Thompson of Goldbond and the late Joseph Hayes. She was a member of The Olean Church of the Brethren at Goldbond. Preceding her in death were her husband Sonny James, her father Joe Hayes. and step-father Joe Thompson.

She leaves to cherish her memories her mother Patsy Lucas Thompson of Goldbond; her sons and daughters-in-law Todd and Angela Snider of Goldbond and Joe and Savannah Snider of Goldbond; her very special granddaughter Madison Snider; her brothers and sisters-in-law Joey and Diane Thompson of Goldbond, Brutis and Tabitha Thompson of Pembroke and Jackson and Charlene Hayes of Hillsville; her special neices Kylie and Braely Thompson; her special nephews Ryan Thompson and Robbie Hayes; her neices Diedra and Bridgett; her special cousin Lynn Darnell; and her special companion her dog Rufus.

Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at the homeplace, 243 Snidertown Road in Goldbond with Pastor Roger Booth officiating. The Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke is in charge of the arrangements. Online condolences may be sent by visiting kendallfuneralhome.com.
