James, Helen Bourne

Helen Bourne James, 92, of Radford, Va., passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2009. She was a member of the Fairlawn Presbyterian Church and retired teaching from Montgomery County and Pulaski County Schools. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Dean James.

Survivors include a son, Thomas D. James, of Radford; three granddaughters, Natalie Karen Brogan and Sarah Annette Camper, both of Roanoke, and Caroline Noelle Hettman, of New Kensington, Pa.; and three greatgrandchildren, Brandon Brogan, Noah Camper and Ashley Hettman.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2009, at the Fairlawn Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Terry Woodard officiating. Entombment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Dublin.

The family will receive friends from noon until the time of the service at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Fairlawn Presbyterian Church or the charity of your choice.
