Jacobs, Rita Faye Aust

Rita Faye Aust Jacobs, age 59, of Pulaski, died Saturday afternoon February 22, 2013 at her residence. She was born on September 25, 1954 in Pulaski, and was the daughter of the late Flora Faye Poe Aust and Harry Edward Aust.

Rita and her husband Gerald, operated and owned a wedding chapel for many years. Rita was very artistic and found beauty in all walks of life. She was a proud member of Mensa.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Harry (Pud) Aust. She is survived by her husband, M. Gerald Jacobs, her feathered boys; Joe, an African Grey, and Murphy, a Harliequin Macaw; a brother; Ronald D. Aust of Pulaski; a sister, Linda and Kenny Johnson of Blacksburg; Neices; Teresa Johnson, Lisa Wikes, Karen Johnson, Susan (Jamie) O’Neil, Ashley (Keith) Johnson, and Ginger (John) Stevens; Nephews, Bryan (Amy) Aust, Scott (Kathy) Aust. Rita was a special great-aunt to; Cabell, LeeAnder Wilkes, Kendra Johnson, Kaylee Johnson, Madelyn and Elaine Aust and John Robert Stevens, and survived by numerous cousins.

A funeral service will be held Monday, February 24, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Seagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Terri Sternberg officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday at the funeral home from 2:30 p.m. until service time.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations in her memory to the Pulaski County Humane Society.
