Jaasma, Dennis Roy

Dennis Roy Jaasma, 63, of Blacksburg, went home to be with the Lord September 10, 2013. Born September 24, 1949, in Little Falls, N.J., he was the son of the late Garret Jaasma and Doris Nymark Jaasma. He was the faithful husband of Diana Brandius Jaasma and a loving and devoted father. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, their spouses, and his grandchildren, Jennifer and Sonu Singh, of Great Falls, Joi and Ty Hopkins, of Christiansburg, and Daniel and Mary Jaasma, of Blacksburg. His adoring grandchildren are Matisse, Seychelle, and Lachen Singh, True, Wren, and Psalter Hopkins, and Micha Jaasma. A graduate of Rutgers and U of Wisconsin, Dr. Jaasma was a professor of Mechanical Engineering at VPI for 32 years and devoted his time to serving his family, church, and community. A memorial service will be held September 14, 2013 at 4 p.m. at Blackbsurg Christian Fellowship, Blacksburg.
