Iacovone, Anthony Nicholas

It is with a heavy heart that we share this news with you. Anthony Nicholas Iacovone unexpectedly passed away on April 16, 2023. He was a beloved son, brother, nephew, uncle, and friend who will be terribly missed by all who knew him.

Anthony was born on July 4, 1990, in Providence, Rhode Island. Most of his life was spent in Virginia after moving there in 1992. Anthony graduated from James River High School in Buchanan, Virginia in 2008 where he was in the marching band and played the drums. He then went on to write music and form a band with several friends as well as, teach himself how to be a sound engineer.

More than anything else, Anthony was such a happy soul and never met anyone who he didn’t consider a friend. He was an amazingly loving, compassionate, caring soul who always had more concerns for others than himself. He was a hard worker, loyal and caring (almost to a fault), as he would drop everything to help someone in need. Anthony was never seen without a smile on his face. He always, always saw the positive in everything, and loved spending time with his family. Being born on the Fourth of July, this sweet little firecracker never missed a chance to exclaim, “it’s my birthday!,” every time he saw fireworks, much to his family’s delight.

Anthony is survived by his mother, Ida, father, Robert, Jr, sisters, Nina Funderburk (Sara) and Emily Iacovone (Lynn), brother, Robert Pfeifer (Christian), Aunt Dyan & Uncle Christopher Finnicum, Uncle John & Aunt Michelle Martin, Great Uncle Robert & Great Aunt Eleanor Casey, Grandfather, Robert Iacovone Sr., Aunt Laura (Kevin) Paton, Aunt Roberta (Jeffrey) Gargiulo, Cousin Colleen McLoughlin, as well as numerous adored nieces and nephews. Anthony was preceded in death by both of his grandmothers, Joyce Ida Casey and Alice Minor Iacovone.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr. S.W. Blacksburg, Virginia to honor Anthony on Sunday, April 23, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. for family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations towards funeral expenses would be greatly appreciated as Anthony did not have any life insurance.
