Hylton, Thelma Price

Thelma Price Hylton, 84, of Blacksburg, died Wednesday, January 30, 2008, at Continuous Care in Christiansburg.

She was born in Montgomery County, Va. on February 7, 1923 to the late Carl Miller and Juanita Bell McCauley Price. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvah Kenneth Hylton and also a brother, C. Milton Price. Thelma was retired from Marriott Hotel. Thelma was a lifelong member of St. Michael Lutheran Church, where she was an active Sunday School teacher and leader in the Women’s Organization. Thelma was a long time member of Prices Fork Grange, where she held many leadership positions.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Denise and Ken Krallman of Cincinnati, Ohio and Dianne and John Krallman of Blacksburg; her son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Elaine Hylton, of Ozark, Alabama; her sister, Betty Lois Price Northrup, of Woodstock; her sisters-in-law, Virginia Roop of Christiansburg and Edith Kenley of Radford; her grandchildren, John T. Krallman of Herndon, Kevin Krallman of Blacksburg, Kelli and her husband, Philip Howard, of Knoxville, Tenn., Keith Krallman of Cincinnati, Paul, David and Andy Hylton of Ozark, Alabama.

The family would like to thank Kathy and the staff of Continuous Care for their care and love shown during the past four years.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 2, 2008 at 11 a.m. at St. Michael Lutheran Church, with the Rev. John Wertz, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael Lutheran Church, 2308 Merrimac Road, Blacksburg, VA 24060. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, Blacksburg.
