James Franklin Hylton, age 71 of Pulaski passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2012 in the Lewis Gale Hospital, Pulaski. He was born May 28, 1941 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rollie Hylton and Evelyn King Hylton Baker; one Grandson, Trevor Hylton and Sister, Mary Ann Lucas.

He was retired from Vaughan-Bassett Furniture Company in Galax with over 20 years of service and a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corp.

He is survived by His wife- Glenda Jean Powers Hylton-Pulaski Sons- James Hylton & wife Melissa-Pulaski Jeffrey Hylton- Pulaski. Daughter- Lisa Michelle Hylton-Pulaski. Seven Grandchildren- Tara Cheyenne Richardson, James Franklin Hylton II, Ariel Paige Hylton, Percy Maurice Johnson II, Justin Wayne Hylton, Noah James Hylton, and Anthony Scott Hylton Two Great Grandchildren- Kylie Noveah Baylor and Kingsley Daequan Richardson. Sisters- Connie Sell-Ark.,Carol Boyd-Shiloh & Sue Almarode-Pulaski. Several Nieces and nephews . Brothers–in-law & Sisters –in law.

Memorial services will be held Thursday 1:00 p.m., October 18, 2012 in the Bower Funeral Home Chapel, Pulaski with the Pastor Jim Linkous officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to service time at Bower Funeral Home or anytime at the home of his son, Jeff Hylton @ 129 Pinnacle Street, Pulaski. Interment will be at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Dublin, Virginia with Military honors at the cemetery conducted by the Pulaski VFW Post # 1184.
