Hutchison, William Garland

William Garland Hutchison, 82, of Ripplemead, Va., departed this life, Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at his home after a long illness. He was in the loving care of his sons and their families. Garland was born at Kimballton on December 1, 1927, a son of the late Walter Lee and Margaret Meadows Hutchison. He was a noted auto mechanic and operated his own repair service in Pearisburg, but his real love was to farm and work the land. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Helen Albert Hutchison; and his three brothers, Caudill, J.D. and Leroy Hutchison. He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Garland Edwin Hutchison and his wife, Judy Stephens Hutchison, of Ripplemead, and Timothy Lee Hutchison and Jackie Frazier, of Pearisburg; his grandchildren, Steven Timothy Hutchison and Kellie Maxine Hutchison; his sister, Pauline H. Sarver and her husband, Gerald Sarver, of Rantoul, Ill.; special caregivers, Betty Hutchison and Autumn Groves; and a special little one that brightened his day, Ean Mertz. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 6, 2010, at 2 p.m. in Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke, with the Rev. Dr. Fred Austin and Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.
