Hutchison, Fleda Olabelle Sartin
Fleda Olabelle Sartin (Sis) Hutchison, 82, of Narrows, departed this life on Saturday, August 20, 2011, at Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg. She was born in Eggleston, Va., on September 16, 1928, and was the daughter of the late James Hughie and Gertie Mae Vaught Sartin. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Layman Hale (Bud) Hutchison; two brothers, Marvin P. Sartin and James A. Sartin; an infant brother, Aaron Hugh Sartin; and a brother-in-law, Gene A. Tracy. Fleda was a retired employee of Celanese Acetate in Narrows with 43 years service. She attended First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Narrows and was baptized in this faith. She loved the Lord very much. She was very active and enjoyed working in flowers, knitting, tatting, and crocheting. Most of all, she loved trout fishing with her husband, Layman, and friends, and enjoyed helping anyone in need. Fleda will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her. Left to cherish her memory are three sisters, Marie Sartin Roberts, of Pearisburg, Va., Janice Sartin Tracy, of Rocky Mount, Va., and Evelyn Sartin Evans and husband, Eugene, of Staffordsville, Va.; a brother, Carroll W. Sartin and wife, Gladys, of Shenandoah, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Charlotte Morris Sartin and Glenna Dowdy Sartin; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and many special friends. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2011, in the chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows with The Rev. Dennis W. Martin and The Rev. Joel Saucedo officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.
