Carl Buford (Cricket) Hunter Sr., 83, of Blacksburg, Va., died on Monday, June 7, 2010, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. He was born in Blacksburg, Va., on March 27, 1927, to the late Paul D. Sr. and Lena Luckado Hunter and was also preceded in death by his wife, Reba Alene Cook Hunter; and a special friend, Bill Cook. Carl was a foreman with the Town of Blacksburg and retired with 33 years of service. He is survived by two daughters, Margaret Alene Hunter and Sandra Louise Hunter, both of Blacksburg; two sons and a daughter-inlaw, Buford Wayne Hunter, of Blacksburg, and Carl B. Jr. and Patty C. Hunter, of Dublin; a grandson, Nathan Dale Hunter and girlfriend, Autumn Farley, of Dublin; and special friend, Chester Dryer. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Richard Gilbert and the Rev. Rador Vaden officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg. Friends may call anytime after noon on Tuesday, June 8, 2010, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg, Va.
