Hunter, Sharon Lockard
Sharon Lockard Hunter, 54, of Dublin, Va., died late Sunday evening, April 26, 2009, in Pulaski Community Hospital. She was born on October 5, 1954, in Radford, and was the daughter of the late Virginia Roseberry Lockard and Alvie (Al) McKinley Lockard.
She was a faithful member of Dublin United Methodist Church, was a 1973 graduate of Dublin High School, was a teacher in the Business Management Department at New River Community College, and was in the Masters Program at Baker College.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Barry W. Hunter, of Dublin: three daughters, Amy Goodrich and her husband, Joey, of Orlando, Fla., Sarah Hunter, of Orlando, and Erin Hunter Lynch and her husband, Mark ,of Dublin; a son, Darrin Hunter and his wife, Joann, of Ft. Bragg, N.C.; and a brother, Gary P. Lockard and his wife, Marian, of Dublin. She is also survived by grandchildren, Lauren Zastrow, Kyle Zastrow, James Goodrich, Annie Goodrich, Jaden Hunter, and Sean Hunter; and her faithful companion and family dog, Tanner.
Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at Dublin United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Rowland officiating. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2009, in Highland Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday prior to the service at the church from 5 until 7 p.m. Flowers will be appreciated, but for those who wish, they may make memorial contributions in her memory to the Dublin United Methodist Church, P.O.
