Hunter, Gale Evens

Gale Evens Hunter, 61, of Christiansburg, loving wife, mother and “granny”, went to be with the Lord on Friday February 27, 2015. She was an employee of Medeco Security locks for over 25 years. She attended Radford Congregational Holiness church where she was secretary.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Warren Woodrow Hinkley and Mildred Louise Fizer Hinkley, her brothers and sister-in-law, Marvin “Fuzzy” Hinkley, Teddy and Liz Hinkley, her sisters and brother-in-law, Rev. Betty and Carlos Moore, and Barbara Otey.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband Daniel Ray Hunter of Christiansburg, her daughter and son-in-law Jessica and Emmanuel Amankrah of Stephens City, Va, her grandsons, Ethan, Nathan and Matthew Amankrah, her brothers and sisters in law, Billy and Brenda Hinkley of Floyd, Forest and Theresa Hinkley of Riner. Sister and brother-in-law, Patty and Dell Parker of Florida. Brothers-in-law, Donald Hunter, Mitchell Hunter, and Andrew Otey all of Christiansburg. Sister-in-law Marie Hinkley of Christiansburg. Along with numerous nephews and nieces, and friends and coworkers at Medeco.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lee Sarver and Rev. Jube Burk officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens Christiansburg. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Monday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive SW, Blacksburg.
