David Lee Hunter, age 58, departed this life on February 9, 2014. He was born August 21, 1953 in Pulaski, Virginia. David was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. His family was his heart and anyone in need could count on him.

David graduated from Pulaski County High School and New River Community College receiving an Associates degree in Drafting from NRCC. David served in the United States Army and in the Army reserve. He was retired from Radford Arsenal with 15 years of service. David had an infinite love of music and was affectionately known to family and friends as “Sir Funk”.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Julia Hunter; son, Derick Hunter; and brothers, Bobby Hunter and James Hunter. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Robin Finley Hunter; son, Eric Hunter; daughter, Titania Hunter; grandchildren Zi’kee, Dayron, Lyric, Adrianna and Makyia.

Funeral Service will be Sunday, February 16, 2014 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 220 Magazine Street, Pulaski, VA with Rev. Douglas Patterson officiating. The Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time for service. Burial will be Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Dublin, VA.
