Hungate Sr., Samuel Eugene

Samuel Eugene (Pooch) Hungate Sr. departed this life on February 14, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, David Hungate and Verna Hungate; a brother, Nelson Hungate; and his wife, Betty W. Hungate.

He is survived by his two sons, Samuel E. Hungate Jr. and Steven E. Hungate; daughter, Patricia W. Moore; sister, Phyllis H. Elliot; his heart and fiance, Barbara Raider, of Dublin. Pooch is also survived by eight grandchildren, T.J. Sheppard, Michelle Sheppard, Jordan W. Starks, Austin Hungate, Kayla R. Hungate, Ciara Hungate, Shiane Hungate, and Gage Akers; two great- grandchildren; one niece; two nephews; and his countless friends around the music scene and all over the state. We all love you and miss you.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 3, 2013, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on 11 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2013, in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in McCoy Family Cemetery, McCoy.
