Hungate, Shirley Alls

Shirley A. Hungate, of Christiansburg, Va. born the ninth month, twenty second day of 1960 died December 28, 2021 at the age of 61 in the loving arms of her husband. Shirley devoted her life to being a caring wife, sister, and loving mother of her three sons. She was a devout Christian devoted to the Bible and God-like service to all. Shirley loved to read, work puzzles, and especially loved to spend time with nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

Shirley is preceded in death by her grandparents, Luther and Inez Alls, father, Gerald Alls, fathers-in-law, Jimmy Hungate and John Collins, brothers-in-law, Darrell Hungate and Mike Wallace. She is survived by her husband, Douglas L. Hungate Sr., mother, Elvira Alls, sons, Douglas Jr. (Emily) Emma and Sophie, James (Vanessa) Weston and Eliza, Jason (Wendy) Dexter, Everett, Beckham, sisters, Clorene Brokofsky, Linda Vaught (Edison), brother, Michael Alls, sisters-in-law, Debbie Wallace, Dana Payne, Leann Sharp (Kevin), mothers-in-law, Edna Collins, Charlotte Hungate, very special friend Marilyn Eisenback, many special nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be Monday, January 3, 2022 at McCoy Funeral Home (150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg, Va.) at 12 pm. Funeral service will immediately follow at 2 pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at Westview Cemetery (723 E. Roanoke St., Blacksburg, Va.) Attendees are requested to wear masks.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in honor of Shirley to the National Alliance on Mental Health Virginia.
