Hungate, John Daniel

John Daniel Hungate, age 84, of Christiansburg, died, Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at Highland Ridge Rehab Center. He was born in McCoy, Virginia on July 17, 1938, to the late William Rufus Hungate, Sr., and Lela Roxy Smith Hungate Flinchum.

He worked in the Virginia Tech print shop for 47 years.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years Patty Hilton Hungate; daughter and son in law Sandra Wallace and husband Roy; son John David Hungate; sisters Linda Jenkin, and Vickie Carroll; brothers Jerry Flinchum, Michael Flinchum; grandson, John Simpson and wife Heather; and great-granddaughter Isabelle Simpson.

Graveside services will be conducted, Monday, April 24, 2023, at 2:00 in the afternoon in the Westview Cemetery with Pastor Josh Graham officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 6:00 in the evening Sunday, April 23, 2023, at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr. S.W., Blacksburg, VA.
