Hughes, Lottie Florence

Lottie Florence Hughes, 100, of Newport, died Wednesday, April 6, 2011. She was born in Craig County, on November 9, 1910, to the late James Edward and Milie Sarver Greenway. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry R. (Dock) Hughes; five sisters and three brothers. She was a lifelong member of Level Green Chrisitan Church. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James B. (J.B.) and Anita Hughes, of Roanoke; her daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Wayne Crawford, of New Castle; three grandchildren, Robin R. Kahl and husband, Rick, Tim S. Hughes and wife, Leslie, Dwayne Crawford; two great-grandchildren, Brad Kahl and wife, Kinsey, Lindsay Kahl; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended church family. Special caregivers were Barbara Hutchinson and family, Frances Huffman, and Sharon Meadows. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 9, 2011, at 3 p.m. in the Level Green Christian Church with Minister Michael Whitaker and Mr. Jack Ford officiating. Interment will follow in the Level Green Cemetery. Flowers are appreciated or contributions may be made to the Level Green Christian Church, c/o Joe Duncan, 1992 Happy Hollow Road, Newport, VA 24128.
