Hughes, Jr., Gerald William

Gerald William Hughes, Jr., 85, of Rich Creek, departed this life at his home in the loving care of his family and hospice. Born in Saratoga Springs, NY on July 16, 1932, he was a son of the late Gerald William Hughes, Sr. and Leola Barber Hughes.

He was retired as a supervisor with Hexagon, had been employed as a corrections officer at Bland Correctional facility; he was skilled at carpentry and enjoyed camping, and reading western novels.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife 0f over 30 years Edna Mae Hughes, his daughter Karen Ann Hughes, his sister Elsie Woodcock.

He leaves to cherish his memory his sons Timothy Hughes, James Harris of Princeton, WV and Scott Harris of Rocky Mount, NC; his daughters Renee Crotty of Narrows, Lisa Marshall of Charlottesville, and Michelle Morgan of Willow Springs, NC; his brother William Hughes of Saratoga Springs, NY; his sister Nancy Priest of Saratoga Springs, NY and numerous grandchildren.
