Hughes, Georgia Cumbee

Georgia Marie Cumbee Hughes, 69 of Pembroke, VA departed this life August 18, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Giles County on June 29, 1959 she was a daughter of the late Charles Chapman and Edith Carter Cumbee.

In addition to her parents, Georgia is preceded in death by her husband, Berman Hughes; a daughter, Lisa Hughes; brothers, Robert Cumbee, Ronnie Cumbee, Lee Cumbee, Bucky Cumbee, and Winfred Cumbee; and sisters, Freda Sanders, Elizabeth Harless, and Mary Kessinger.

Left to cherish her memory to their hearts are a son, Arnie Hughes of Pembroke; grandchildren, Natasha Martin, Desirai Lynn Hughes, Aubbie Grace Hughes, and Tanner Riddle; a special great-grandaughter, Raelyn Reed; a brother Poncho Cumbee (Debbie) of Blacksburg; and a sister, Anna Sue Cumbee of Rich Creek, VA.
