Robert L. Huffman, 85, went home to see his beloved wife Hazel and son, Duke, on May 22, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, V. Shirley Huffman and Nannie B. Huffman of Glade Springs, Va.; brother, John Huffman of California; wife, Hazel B. Huffman; son, Robert L. Huffman Jr. (Duke); and very special uncle, Hunter McNeil and wife, Grace.

He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Shirley Huffman and Dr. Carl Hannah of Blacksburg, Va.; daughter, Juanita Huffman of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; daughter and son-in-law, Georgia and Jesse Jones of Dublin; his grandchildren, Brooke Lawson of Draper, Va., Brandon Lawson of Pulaski, Va., Holly O’Dell of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; and great-grandson, J. Deklyn Henry of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; and brother, Frank JC Huffman of Santa Clara, Calif.; also Trigger, Louie, ‘lil bit and Rambler Huffman of Draper, Va.

Bob was renowned for his woodworking, quick wit and love of dogs. Bob served in the United States Army as a Military Policeman, stationed at Fort Shafter, Hawaii. Bob was extremely devoted to his family, both human and animal. Bob passed doing what he loved in the company of his dogs at his home in Draper.

Services will be held at Stevens Funeral home in Pulaski. Family will receive guests from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday with funeral on Sunday at 2 p.m. with full military honors following at graveside at Highland Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made to the Pulaski Co. Humane Society PO Box 1046 Dublin, VA 24084. “I’ve never met a dog that I didn’t like, or didn’t like me” -RLH
